History

On Sunday November 3, 1968 a group of people coming out of The Church By The Side Of The Road met and voted to start a new church. With a vote of 57 yes, 1 no and 3 undecided a new church was born. The new church moved into McMicken Heights Improvement Club 3730 South 166th St Seattle Washington. The new church was named Christian Assembly. Howard S. May was named the pastor.

At the Annual Business Meeting on December 18, 1968, the name of the church was changed from Christian Assembly to The Fellowship Tabernacle.

The church prospered in those early years and it was decided that property and a new building would be needed to accommodate the growth. Property was bought on 176th and Military Rd.

At the Annual Business Meeting May, 4, 1969, the name of the church was changed from The Fellowship Tabernacle to Angle Lake Neighborhood Church.

Early in the 1970's the church joined the Assemblies of God and started working on the current building located at 18617 42nd Ave South in September of 1972 and finished this building in May of 1973.

In November of 1983 Howard S. May retired as pastor of Angle Lake Neighborhood Church. On November 20, 1983 Duane French was voted in as the new pastor.

In April of 1985 Duane French resigned as pastor of Angle Lake Neighborhood Church and James Bellmore was voted in as the new pastor.

In April of 1989 James Bellmore resigned as pastor of Angle Lake Neighborhood Church and on June 28, 1989 Herb Christensen was voted in as the new pastor.

On February 5, 1997 Herb Christensen resigned as pastor of Angle Lake Neighborhood Church and on June 17, 1997 Steve Forrey was voted in as the new pastor.

In June of 2007 Steve Forrey resigned as pastor of Angle Lake Neighborhood Church and on December 16, 2007 John Kilough became the new pastor.
